Datakit at the next round of the Managed Model-based 3D Engineering workshop

Datakit will take part in September 2024 at the next session of LOTAR hold in Phoenix (USA), combined with MBx-IF Workshop.

Since its creation the prime objective of the LOTAR project is the creation and deployment of standards for long-term archiving and retrieval of digital data, based on standardized approaches and solutions.

On the agenda of the next session:

  • General discussions about global improvements related to STEP standard,
  • Enhancement of AP242E4 with specific talks focused on FDT, UUID, …
  • Results of new case tests to evaluate the retrieval of PMI, holes features, kinematics, persistent ID, PMI in assemblies in a multi-STEP XML file, …
  • Workshops related to viewers requirements.

As a major vendor of interoperability, Datakit is committed for many years in the support of STEP and a continuing member of MBX-IF and Lotar group.

The Lotar project for Standardization is conducted by PDES, Inc. AFNet and the prostep ivip association, by leading OEMs, suppliers, and solution providers in the aerospace & defense industry under the joint auspices of Aerospace Industries Association of America (AIA), the AeroSpace & Defense Industries Association of Europe, ASD-STAN.

AFNeT, PDES, Inc., and prostep ivip have created the Model-Based “x” Interoperability Forum (MBx-IF) as an umbrella organization to promote the international use of STEP (ISO 10303) for the exchange of product data between different systems across multiple domains.
